Welcome to **Satoshi's Defense**, a modern adaptation of the ancient Viking strategy game **Hnefatafl**, with a Bitcoin twist. In this game, players take on the roles of **Satoshi**, **Validators**, and **Hackers**. The goal is simple: Protect or capture Satoshi. But strategy is key to securing victory. Here's how to play!
The goal of the game depends on your role. If you're on the **Validator** team, your job is to defend Satoshi and help him reach one of the four secure Bitcoin nodes on the board's corners. If you're on the **Hacker** team, your mission is to capture Satoshi before he escapes. Use strategy, tactics, and a little luck to outmaneuver your opponents!
Place Satoshi in the center of the 9x9 board. Surround him with 8 Validators to protect him from the Hackers.
Position the Hackers on the outer edges of the board. Choose between 12 Hackers for an easier game, or 16 for a more challenging match.
Select the game difficulty: **Hard** (16 Hackers) or **Easy** (12 Hackers). Validators must work together to defend Satoshi.
The game features **custom dice** that dictate the movement and actions of the Validators and Hackers:
Each die roll determines the player's actions and movement options for their pieces. Here's how each side affects gameplay:
Follow these steps to start playing **Satoshi's Defense**:
For an extra challenge, add a second or third Satoshi to the board. The Validators must defend all of them!
Set a timer for each player's move. This adds urgency and increases the strategic intensity of the game.
Keep Satoshi close to the center for as long as possible. The more space between him and the Hackers, the more moves you can make to block them.
Use teamwork to coordinate your attacks. Surrounding Satoshi requires precision and planning, so communicate with your fellow Hackers to set traps.
